Magazine cover

I've finished my magazine cover. The actual construction of the front page in Photoshop didn't take much time cause I had a clear idea of what i wanted on there, witch colours to use, and a great photograph to use.

The final cover didn`t vary much from the final draft. The draft mas maybe a little scarse of detail, I should have included the positions of the cover lines as well.

Prelimunary Task

A simple design for the magazine "The Student", prelimunary task.

Cover photo

These are some of the photos i consider using for my magazine. I met up with my model and did a quick shoot just outside of college. I'm very happy about the result, and I think I've got my cover photo!

The photo-shoot was intended for my cover photo, but I'll maybe use some of the other photos as well troughout my magazine. I consider use some of the mid-shots or long-shots in my DPS or contents page.

These photo's are edited and cropped.

Consider using this image in my DPS, but then i will need more similar long-shots.

Instead of making it into a black-and-white series of photos, the photos are only desaturated.

Updatet stylesheet and target audience

Here is an updated version of my stylesheet As the construction of my cover have begun, I've decided to change some of the basic layout in my magazine.

I want to include the description of my target audience as well, as this is maybe the last of research I will do for my magazine:

My target audience is largely males 17 to 25 of age. They have generally an interest in the genre and they engage in activities related to this type of music as well. They are a determined audience, they usually know what bands they like or dislike and usually have opinions about the genre. My target audience may span from class D to C1 (working to lower middle class), someone may belong to class B (middle class) as well.

Final drafts

These are the final draft's Ive chosen to use in my magazine. The actual layout in the magazine may vary from the drafts, but the general construction will be the same.

Final draft of the contents page
On the contents page i wanted a little different layout then just "the list" down the a4 page. I've split my contents page into two main parts. First four main articles I want to highlight, and underneath the rest of the articles and reviews in the magazine.

Final draft of the cover.
The case I'm going to have on my cover is my mate's band, and a cover photo of him. I want the name of the band clearly visible on the front of my magazine, because it's the combination of the cover image and the band name that is eventually going to sell. My cover is an open draft with few details in it because I will have to look at the actual cover photo before i can begin to place cover lines.

Final draft of the DPS
My DPS will consist of two photos, each page divided into three columns and a time line underneath the article itself.
